As a busy mum, you will find me in my activewear most days of the week. And that’s because I spend my days transporting my daughter to and from nursery, running errands or trying to squeeze in a Pilates class. In between that, I am busy blogging, so its important to me that I am nice and comfortable given I’m not in a corporate office.
When Boudavida reached out and asked if I would like to try some of their activewear for women, I couldn’t have been happier! After months of lockdown, I was eager to refresh my workout wardrobe so it came at a perfect time. Here I will share with you my 5 pieces of activewear that every busy mum should own. Featuring fabulous items from the Boudavida collection and showing you how to wear activewear everyday.
Disclosure: The clothing products featured in this blog post were gifted to me by Boudavida to try at home prior to publishing my blog post. All opinions are my own.
About Boudavida
Boudavida is a sports and activewear company that prides themselves on being different. The name Bouvadia was inspired by the legend of Boudicca – Queen of the Iceni tribe. She was a strong and active woman who wouldn’t take no for an answer. And that is how ‘Boudavida’ was born – as a way of encapsulating female strength of character with the notion of living a healthy life.
We don’t just make sportswear; we aim to bring fashion and function together to create clothes that make women feel good about their bodies and inspired to get active.
The team at Boudavida spend a great deal of time designing and testing their products, so their customers can rest assured that their activewear will go the distance. Its also important to them that you feel good in your activewear; because if you feel great then you’ll want to move your body!
Last but not least, 5% of every purchase from Boudavida is donated to projects in women’s sport, making a difference for women and girls across the UK. A great initiative to help more women stay active, improve their health and enhance their lives through sport and exercise.
Why is Activewear so Popular?
In my opinion, activewear has become so popular in recent years due to the ease of wearing it and the reliability it provides. I feel that when I am wearing activewear, no one would expect me to be in a full face of makeup or have expertly groomed hair. A bit of lip gloss and a mum bun is totally fine. There is little to no need to iron your activewear but yet you can still look relatively put together with little effort. Activewear has come such a long way and its easy to find stylish pieces that are of good quality. Busy women everywhere are rejoicing at the evolution of activewear for our modern day lives.
5 Pieces of Activewear that Every Mum Should Own
#1: Sports Bra
The most important piece of activewear that a woman can own is a GOOD sports bra. Because it is vital that you look after the girls whilst working out. Between the impacts of gravity and the movement that comes with exercise, if you don’t have good support then your boobs will start to droop over time. Sorry, there is no pleasant way to put it!
The Ceci sports bra is the perfect crop for low impact exercise such as yoga or a brisk walk. It has a timeless shape and fastens as the back, making it easy to take on and off. Pair it with your favorite pair of leggings or under your favorite tee.
#2: Black Tee
Everyone needs a staple black tee in their life – or if you are anything like me, you need several. The perfect black tee is effortless and timeless, ensuring you look luxe in your activewear. Plus, black can hide any dirt and sweat!
What I love about the Flo T-Shirt is that its just a little bit fancy with its Italian performance fabric and the mesh inserts on the sleeves. This t-shirt is perfect for the nursery drop off, coffee with the school mums or any type of exercise. A t-shirt that is bringing serious style to your activewear collection.
#3: Vest
A vest is ideal for those warmer days or higher intensity workouts when you don’t want to be restricted in your sportswear. In the height of summer, you will always find me sporting my favorite sports bra and a workout vest. Whether that be for my daily walk or when I am doing jobs around the house.
So why not dress to impress in the Tiffany Vest. It is available in a gorgeous autumnal aubergine and this vest perfectly compliments the natural curves of a woman’s body without being too tight. It also features an overlapping back detail and a navy mesh keyhole for extra breathability. Keeping you cool and comfortable!
#4: Lightweight & Waterproof Mac
One thing I learnt very quickly about living in the UK is to always take an umbrella. ALWAYS. But even an umbrella is not always a reliable source of protection on windy days and busy streets. So second to that, invest in clothing that is waterproof and has a hood.
This is where the Boudavida Pac-a-Mac comes into its element. Its lightweight, completely water resistant and folds up really small, so is easy to take with you everywhere for those ‘just in case‘ moments. This loose fit women’s packable rain jacket has reflective details and will be a savior if you get stuck in a sudden downpour.
#5: Carry All Bag
Every mum understands the importance of a reliable carry all bag. When there is a little person in your life, the amount of stuff you end up carrying is a phenomenon in itself. So its good to have a durable bag that is comfortable to carry, easy to clean and has plenty of pockets.
The Cushty Gym Bag is the expert companion for that busy mum life, but just quietly I also think it would be ideal for travelling with kids. This versatile bag is lightweight and has gorgeous rose gold zip details (my fave part!!). It also cleverly includes two yoga mat straps and internal compartments for wet kit. The perfect bag – whatever the occasion!
Why I love Boudavida
I must say, I am so impressed with the quality of the Boudavida products I received. As you can probably guess, I’ve tried and tested a lot of activewear brands both in the UK and Australia and these items were up there with the best. I love the meaning behind the name and what the brand fundamentally stands for. They have a beautiful range of athleisure clothing, and they have definitely gained a new fan girl here!
I hope you have enjoyed learning a little more about the wonderful brand Boudavida, and that I have helped inspire you to build your essentials activewear wardrobe. Every busy mum and woman needs these items in their lives, so make sure you treat yourself if you don’t already own them. Let me know in the comments below what activewear item you cannot live without in your wardrobe? Get moving and feel good – you’ve got this! Shell x

If I looked as good as you do in it, then I would give it a try! I’m in jeans every day instead 🙂 #KCACOLS
Awww that is very kind of you to say! However, there are some many great styles and pieces that I am sure you could find something that you feel good (and comfortable!) wearing 🙂
I must say I live in active wear so this is right up my street #KCACOLS
It’s hard to break the habit once you start, isn’t it?!? But there are just so many great choices these days that I can’t resist wearing it.

I really need a new sports bra so will look at this. #kcacols
I really like the sound of Boudavida. I’ve only just started to build a very unimpressive set of leggings and t-shirts for my ermm… fast walking (?!) that I’m trying to keep up with each day. I’ll have to look into the brand 🙂 Thank you for joining us for the #DreamTeamLinky
I have never owned any activewear before starting the couch to 5 k this summer! Thanks for linking up with #dreamteamlinky
Activewear isn’t currently part of my life, but this looks like a great make, so good to know about if/when the need arises! Thanks so much for sharing with #KCACOLS, I hope you come back again next time x
