The Ebor Festival at York Races has been a firm fixture on our calendars since arriving in York. So when York Racecourse asked if I would like to assist them with some fashion content for their Instagram account in the lead up to the Ebor Festival, I jumped at the opportunity. We have been horse racing enthusiasts for over a decade and have held memberships with several clubs, including York Racecourse.
I recently had the pleasure of attending the Maxwell-Scott’s AW Launch for its 2019 collection. Maxwell Scott’s team invited me to their party and their super luxe products appealed to me so, I was eager to attend the event. Maxwell Scott is a proud Yorkshire based brand with gorgeous leather goods which are British designed and Italian made.
Feeling sexy after motherhood – is there such a thing? The answer is, yes of course! In those early days of becoming a mother it is very difficult to see how. Your body is no longer your own as your recover from birth and (quite literally) give life to your newborn if you choose to breastfeed. Maternity bras, pads the size of a surfboard and that pouch affectionately known as the ‘mum tum’ do not exactly scream sexiness. However, like everything with pregnancy and motherhood, it is all a phase and will soon pass. Before you know it, you will be back to feeling somewhat like your old self … or at least enjoying your new self. So, how do you feel sexy again after motherhood?
I was recently invited to the launch of a new jewellery collection, Love Letters by Esme Louise. Esme reached out to me on Instagram and I felt that our brands perfectly complemented each other so I was eager to attend the party. Esme Louise is an independent jewellery brand based in the north of England and she describes the brand as ‘young, luxe with a touch of sass‘.
I really struggled to decide on a baby bag (and I still refuse to call it a nappy bag – in my mind I am cooler than that!). I find lots of them to be bulky and ugly and definitely not something I wanted to be seen carting around with me. In the first year as a new mum you will use this bag every day, so it is worth some thought and investment. I encourage you to think outside of the box when you are choosing your baby bag and not to commit to the status quo because you think you should. And hey, if it is not a traditional baby bag then you can continue to use it for years to come. In fact I accidentally bought a Coach baby bag some years ago as a bag to use as a travel carry-on and didn’t even realize – it wasn’t until later when I found the changing mat inside! Here are a few of my fave stylish baby bags to inspire all you trendy mums.
Holy shit, I won! Well I didn’t win first place, I won runner-up. But to me it felt like I had won. I am talking about the Best Dressed Women competition at the York Races where, by complete surprise, I won a prize based on my fashion. Proving my point that being a mum doesn’t have to stop you from being who you really are, here is my behind the scenes look at the day and my outfit.
