Want to know how to make 2021 the year that you find your dream job?  Perhaps you have spent a lot of time thinking about your career lately and you feel that now is the perfect time to make a change.

Many people drift along in a career that they don’t really like, but are not sure how to break free and do something about their work situation. Changing jobs always feels like a massive step to take, and it can feel a lot safer to stay within your comfort zone, rather than taking a risk and trying to find your dream job.

The problem is that if you never try anything new and stick with a job that makes you feel unhappy or unfulfilled, you will always be wondering ‘what if.’ Making the change and finding a new job is not easy, especially if you want to change your career entirely. But, if you are making a complete career change into a new industry, you may need to re-train before applying for a role. Taking time to prepare will pay off when it is time to show your abilities during the recruitment stage.

With your research complete, and after working on achieving the skills needed for the new role, it is time to start taking the next step towards making your new career happen. You may wish to start actively looking for a job in your chosen industry right now. Taking your time and getting a feel for the kinds of jobs currently available is essential to helping you find your dream job.

While applying for jobs, you may also find that it is useful to start making connections in your new industry. Making connections and networking can open up a whole host of new opportunities. Through networking, it will help you to stay up-to-date with the latest industry news. Networking with people in the industry is a great way to get recognised, and be the first to know about any job vacancies before they get advertised elsewhere.
