3 Things You Can Do Now to Plan Your Next Adventure

Want to know 3 things you can do now to plan your next adventure?  For huge numbers of people all around the world, the year 2020 has not gone exactly as planned – to say the very least.  And especially from a travel perspective!

The simple reality is that the COVID-19 Pandemic has thrown everyone’s plans into disarray to one extent or another, and one of the areas in which this has been most universally felt has been with regards to things like travel and vacation plans.

While you might not be able to go on your next great travel adventure right now, however, there are certainly things you can do in the meantime – while you are stranded at home – to plan in advance for your next great travel adventure.

So, here are a few suggestions to get you started!

#1: Prepare Essentials & Emergency Supplies

One thing that you can start doing immediately to plan your next adventure, is to prepare the essentials and emergency travel supplies upfront.

Any time you are venturing away from home to a new and exciting location, you will be vulnerable in certain key regards. It is therefore always an extremely good idea to prepare things such as:

  • a first aid kit in advance,
  • to have maps to your destinations in hardcopy just in case something happens to your GPS,
  • to have an extra emergency wallet.

Essentials such as diarrhoea medicine may take a while to locate and purchase depending on where your travels take you.  But these things can certainly make a massive positive difference with regards to how your whole trip plays out, and how you experience the journey.

#2: Go Destination Hunting

Perhaps the most fun and uplifting part of preparing for any vacation or getaway, is the art of destination hunting itself.

There is something deeply satisfying, fun, and exciting about looking at all the different destinations on offer and getting yourself invested in the act of research.  Some ways you can plan your next adventure include:

  • Look up photographs of the local natural sites that you want to see.
  • Read travel accounts of particular cities.
  • Make a shortlist of local attractions and cultural hotspots.
  • Pick up a Lonely Planet guide for your destination, or something similar.

Not only is this kind of planning a great way of shortlisting some destinations that you will genuinely enjoy seeing, but it’s also a great way of improving your experience of quarantine and lockdown, as well.

#3: Plan How You Will Preserve Your Memories

When you are in the midst of your travels, you will likely be so caught up in the whirlwind of experiences you are having, that you will not necessarily be giving much thought to the things you could do in order to help preserve those memories for posterity.

Nonetheless, you will almost certainly benefit from keeping a good travel journal, or getting some high quality pictures and videos while you are out there.

Planning in advance just how you will preserve your memories for the trip can be a great thing to try out. Maybe you could register a travel blog URL in advance, or buy a new leather bound journal that you will genuinely enjoy writing in.
