It has been well communicated that we recently traveled to the Margaret River Region in Australia to attend two VIP weddings. Its a truly incredible part of the world – beautiful beaches, a wide array of food options from fine dining to quality bakeries, delicious wines and every type of accommodation option you can think of from glamping to high end resorts. We have been traveling to Margaret River for weekend escapes or a lazy week on the beach as long as I can remember. Actually, the very first little trip that Troy and I took together was to Dunsborough, so it was pretty special to finally take our little girl there. No one could have predicted the adventures we would go on or the things we would achieve together during that first visit – at that point in time we had only been dating for about 3 months. This trip was a little different as we had a toddler in tow and we spent longer there than we usually would. Here is a recap on our vacay to the South West of Australia.Continue Reading
I have always been a bit of a bookworm and love having books in our home. I only packed a few books to bring over to England and already our collection is piling up again (although I am doing my best to gift them on to friends and family to avoid too much clutter). And that’s why I am also considering signing up for Kindle Unlimited – you can get a 30 day free trial here if you are interested! I’m not a fast reader so I can easily take a month or two to read whatever is on my nightstand, but nonetheless I have a list of books waiting patiently in my Amazon cart for me to push the ‘buy now‘ button. These days I quite like reading books which will give me inspiration and ideas and then a bit of chick lit for good measure. My fave books of last year were Million Dollar Blog, Lean In and My Not So Perfect Life. This year the list has a similar-ish look and feel, so here are the Top 9 that I am attempting to read in 2019:Continue Reading
During our first year as parents we have stayed in a mixture of both hotels and AirBNB holidays lets with the baby. Both of them have their advantages and disadvantages and are worth considering when you are booking accommodation for your next family holiday with baby in tow. My comments below are very much a generalization as there are obviously such a wide variety of hotels and AirBNBs available all around the world offering different things. Continue Reading
I have flown with the baby multiple times on my own. Not by choice, but because circumstances have changed last minute and my husband has had to fly off elsewhere. Generally it has been too expensive to change the flights or we have already paid for accommodation so I have decided to stay on by myself and fly home solo with the baby. Besides, exploring different cities is far more interesting than flying home early to do laundry. So are you considering flying somewhere solo with the baby and want to know how I manage it? Most people call me crazy and proclaim they don’t know how I do it, but here are my tips for how to fly solo with a baby.Continue Reading
Sure, I don’t blame you for not thinking of Santorini as your first choice of holiday destination with your young family. What with all the incredible infinity pools, sunset sails, cobblestone lanes and local vineyards. Sounds like the idyllic spot for a honeymoon and the worst scenario for a baby. Santorini had been on my travel bucket list for an eternity, so when we started planning holidays for 2018 I put this straight at the top of the list without giving much thought to the fact that we would have a 9 month old in tow. However, our trip was INCREDIBLE and my favorite one thus far this year. So here is why I think you should be booking your next family vacay to Santorini!
My heart begins to race, the cold sweats are setting in and the disabling anxiety is starting to take full control. Everyone is glaring at me, unwilling to help or offer up their seat. I can see the look on their faces and I know exactly what they are thinking, hell I used to be one of them. Somehow through my tunnel vision I manage to spot a familiar face and I know I am only moments from relief. And that was the terrifying moment that I entered the Emirates Lounge in Perth with my three month old screaming blue murder as she needed to be fed and comforted after enduring security.Continue Reading
