#1: Fishing and Watersports

Lake Glenbawn is one of the richest freshwater fishing spots in New South Wales. The pristine lake hosts many Australian bass, catfish, golden perch and other fish species, making it a worthy catch for any avid angler. Grab your fishing gear and try your luck at catching a bass or two in the Lake.

Most people fish on Lake Glenbawn by casting their line from a boat. However, you can also fish from the bank if the dam is at a good level. You can also spend some peaceful time exploring the beautiful water in a kayak or canoe. But if you’re up for something more fast-paced fun, you can try tubing, water-skiing, jet-skiing and other high-octane adventures.

#2: Explore Dining Options In Nearby Scone

Lake Glenbawn is just 15 minutes from Scone in the Hunter Region of New South Wales. While the park has a Kiosk to meet your basic needs, you can drive into town to try out some fantastic cafes and other dining options available as well.

Another way to enjoy a relaxing time at Lake Glenbawn is to take a walk along the foreshore of the lake. For those up for a more active adventure, you can hike the mountains surrounding the lake to get your hearts pumping. Whether you’re taking a relaxing evening stroll or legs burning hike, don’t forget to admire the birds and other wildlife around. You can also bring your camera with you to capture some of these spectacular animals and the beautiful colours of the lake’s surrounding areas.

You can spend your evenings cooking up your catch of the day, toasting marshmallows or simply sharing stories around a campfire. #5: Go Wine Tasting

Lake Glenbawn is located in Hunter Valley, a region known for sprawling vineyards and wineries. There are more than 150 wineries in the Hunter Valley area, many of them within driving distance from Lake Glenbawn. As part of your adventure to Lake Glenbawn, you can visit these wineries to sample wines, especially the full-bodied Shiraz and aged Semillon, which the region is most famous for.
