Increase Your Body Confidence in 4 Simple Steps

Your body confidence has likely changed somewhat over the years. Younger children tend to view their bodies as being powerful and fast. Teenagers tend to be much more critical, judging them on the way that they look as opposed to what they can actually do.  And then as you move into adulthood, everything continues to change from decade to decade.

If you feel as though you have a complex relationship with your body, then now is the time for you to change that.  So, here are 4 simple steps you can take to increase your body confidence now.

#1: Curate Social Media

This is not an easy thing to do for most people, but it is possible for you to take action right now. You’d be surprised at what a huge difference it can make to your inner voice.

First of all, if you see a post that makes you feel bad about yourself – you need to be proactive and hit that unfollow button. If it’s hard to do this because they are someone close to you, then make sure that you hide the posts instead. If you are able to get rid of your body negativity then this will give you the chance to hush your inner critic. Once you have been able to get rid of the accounts which are making you feel bad about yourself, then you need to seek out accounts that make you feel really good and positive.

If you still feel like there are parts of your body you would like to work on, then look up skin tightening as a potential way to boost your body confidence.

#2: Focus on what Your Body Can Do

A lot of people tend to focus on how their body looks as opposed to what it can do. You need to forget about what you look like, and instead, spend some time focusing on some of the amazing things that you can do. When you exercise, don’t think about how many calories you are burning. Instead, think about how hard you have worked and ultimately, what you have achieved. After a couple of weeks, you may find that you are able to look at your body with much more respect, which will ultimately lead to increased body confidence.

#3: Know Who You Are

At the end of the day, you’re not your body. You are a person, and a great one at that. Grab a pen and some paper, and then write down a list of all of the things that you can do well.  Make a conscious effort to focus on the positives rather than the negatives. If you can do this, then you’ll soon find that it is easier than ever for you to embrace body confidence.

#4: Don’t Look at the Scales

Of course, it is beneficial to live a healthy lifestyle but at the end of the day, your mental health is just as important. If the numbers on the scales are what is making you feel bad about yourself and your body, then quit focusing on them. You are worth far more than those numbers, so if you want to boost your body confidence and overall health, make sure that you don’t weigh yourself all the time.

If you want to lose weight, then it’s possible to do so without jumping on the scales every week. You can move your body in ways that you know makes you feel good, such as dancing. Not everything has to be about burning calories at the gym!

We hope these few simple steps will help you to increase your body confidence and set you on your path to loving your body!
