Boasting more than 60,000 kilometers of gorgeous coastline, when it comes to beaches, Australia has plenty to choose from. Many of Australia’s beaches line the travel guides and travel books and are often shared across social media too. The best beaches in Australia really are gorgeous; white golden sands and bright blue seas – what’s not to love?

While having hundreds of beaches offers lots of choice, it can also make selecting which beaches to visit while on your travels a little more tricky, can’t it? With stretches of sand hidden in the wilderness, city beaches, and surfers sites, there are so many fantastic beaches to choose from!  All of which boast plenty of sun and wonderfully warm seas.

#1: Whitehaven Beach, Queensland 

This bad boy is listed on some of the best beaches in the world and it’s not difficult to see why; it looks like something out of a movie. The seven kilometer arc boasts white soft sands that isn’t actually sand but silica, along with tropical blue seas. Situated in a national park at Whitsunday Island, the beach is always wonderfully pristine and almost too beautiful to believe.

Whilst you are visiting the Whitsundays region, don’t miss the opportunity to also explore Airlie Beach. This laid back coastal town is a popular holiday destination with its year round tropical weather. Enjoy the palm-fringed beaches, al fresco restaurants and vibrant markets – its the ideal place to relax and unwind.

#2: Byron Bay, New South Wales

If you’re looking for a beach with a city attached, you want to head to Byron Bay. The coastal town is located on the north coast of New South Wales and is home to the most easterly point in Australia, in addition to the famous Cape Byron lighthouse. #3: Bondi Beach, New South Wales

Perhaps one of Australia’s most famous beaches, Bondi Beach is renowned for being one of the country’s most spectacular beachscapes. It has iconic status, is the country’s most cosmopolitan beach, and boasts subtle golden sands and glorious blue seas.  It’s also a popular surfing site and somewhere regularly frequented by surfing enthusiasts.

#4: Vivonne Bay, South Australia

Located on Kangaroo Island, this unspoilt stretch of beach boasts white sands and incredibly blue seas. You can often see seals swimming around the unspoilt stretch of coastline, making it a must visit for any nature enthusiasts. It also a wonderfully gentle beach with calm seas, perfect for families, swimming or kayaking.
