If you are in need of a little TLC during lock-down, why not treat yourself to the ultimate spa day at home? Personally, I feel it is really important to stay positive during uncertain times. And an essential part of staying positive is ensuring you are looking after yourself both inside and out.
I have teamed up with Escentual to present you with the 5 luxury products from their French Pharmacy to pamper yourself at home. We all know that the French exude glamour and sophistication, and these products are no exception. You will be feeling lush from head to toe and blissfully relaxed in no time. Which means you will be well and truly ready to face the world when we are safe to do so. The best part is – these products wont break the bank!

THE LIPSTICK EFFECT
Before we get started, have you ever heard of the lipstick effect?
The philosophy is that during times of economic crisis, woman will splurge a little on some form of beauty product, usually lipstick, as opposed to more expensive luxury items they might usually buy.
Whilst I won’t bore you with an economic lesson, there is definitely evidence to suggest over the past 100 years that lipstick sales have spiked during times of economic uncertainty.
The current global pandemic has forced many of us to cancel plans, reschedule beauty appointments and postpone events that we were looking forward to. Therefore, some beauty indulgences at home could be the perfect answer for you to help keep your spirits lifted.
And if you are looking for a simple make-up routine during lock-down, check out my 5 Minute Mum Makeup. Spending a few minutes in the morning making myself look more presentable does the world of good for my mood that day.
SETTING THE SCENE FOR YOUR SPA DAY AT HOME
To take full advantage of your ultimate spa day at home, set up your bedroom or bathroom so it feels like you are at a proper spa.
- Clean and tidy the intended space beforehand.
- Grab your bath robe and slippers.
- Burn your favorite candle or essential oils.
- Turn on some calming and tranquil music.
- Prepare yourself some herbal tea … or even better, a glass of champagne!
Now you are truly ready to start your spa day at home.
#1: Body – Nuxe Rêve de Miel Deliciously Nourishing Body Scrub
Jump in the shower or bath and indulge your body in this magnificent body scrub containing honey, sugar crystals and precious oils. Scrub away your worries and leave your skin feeling divine and silky smooth. This nourishing exfoliator has a luxe smell which reminded me of expensive spa treatments whilst on holidays – one of my favorite pastimes. It’s the perfect product to start your spa day at home.
#2: Hair – Klorane Mango Butter Nourishing Conditioner
After you have shampooed and conditioned your hair, apply the Klorane leave in-cream. I have been a huge fan of the Klorane range ever since using their hair strengthening spray. Whilst this products is deeply nourishing, it does so impressively without weighing down fine hair. The mango in this conditioner is rich in fatty acids which works hard to repair and restore your luscious, glossy locks. And the delicious yet faint mango smell will fool you into thinking you are on a tropical beach holiday for a short while.
#3: Face – Vichy Mineral 89 Fortifying Instant Recovery Mask
Are you even in lock-down if you haven’t applied a face mask at home? Take 10 minutes to relax and indulge your face with this fortifying instant recovery mask. Its the perfect pick me up for every complexion if your skin feels a bit run down, and an essential element to your spa day at home. This intensely hydrating mask will leave your skin feeling plump and smooth – just like you have had an expensive spa facial. It contains a combination of volcanic water, 15 replenishing minerals and hyaluronic acid – all the things that your skin likely needs right now. Your face will be invigorated and you will feel as fresh as a daisy.
#4: Hands – Eucerin UreaRepair Plus 5% Urea Hand Cream
Hands suffering with the constant hand washing? Nourish them with this incredible hand cream from Eucerin. The special ingredients will add back all the lost moisture to your hands and help to keep them hydrated and supple. Whist you can use this product throughout the day, if you really want to indulge your hands then apply a generous amount of cream, thoroughly massage and take 10 minutes to relax and let it soak in. Perfect for whilst you are enjoying your face mask. The product itself has little to no smell and leaves your hands feeling ultra smooth. I don’t think my hands have felt this good since isolation started.
#5: Finishing Touch – Mustela Hydra Bebe Body Lotion
Finish your spa day at home with this light weight but powerful moisturizer from Mustela. It is suitable for the entire family, including those with sensitive skin. You can apply this lovely product from head to toe to leave you skin feeling nourished and hydrated. The lotion absorbs quickly into the skin and smells clean and fresh, like a gentle baby powder. What impresses me most about this product is that 88% of its ingredients are of natural origin, including the patented ingredient Avocado Perseose®, which reinforces the skin barrier. I have been using the lotion on my daughter for the past 12 months, but from now on it will be a staple in my own bathroom cupboard.

I totally need to have a home spa day. Also need to tidy up first to try and get a bit of tranquil space. These products look great and would be an ideal pamper treat. Thanks so much for linking up at #KCACOLS. Hope you come back again next time.
This sounds like a great idea and something I am going to have to make time for after the boys have gone to bed. I especially love the sound of the Mango butter nourishing conditioner.
This is going to sound completely bonkers, but somehow reading your post about having a spa day made me feel incredibly relaxed, almost as if I had actually had a mini spa. LOL. Maybe it’s wishful thinking. Now, that mango conditioner looks like something I would buy too. There’s nothing like a delicious smelling hair product that leaves you feeling good later in the day. I also like the sound of the face mask as well. Time for a treat I think! Thank you for joining us for the #DreamTeamLinky xx
I am loving the sound of the mask. It is my birthday next week. Perhaps I should suggest to the husband that I take it as a spa day? #DreamTeamLinky
Lovely ideas- I did have a bath yesterday with a green tea bath bomb and that made me feel a million bucks! Sometimes it’s just the process and the effort to relax! #KCACOLS
This is a fab idea – I think we could all do with some me time at the moment #DreamTeamLinky
A little pampering is a great idea. I love the products you have suggested. Also the points about cleaning the pamper area, candles and calming music is important to set the tone and really get you in the mood to relax #KCACOLS
Oh my gosh I can’t tell you what I would give for a spa day at home right now….I have 12 week old twins and a 3 and 6 year old so these days I am feeling particularly unpampered!! But unless I lock the bathroom door there is no escaping them right now with the current lockdown restrictions so for now I will have to dream I think. Great tips though, it is such a good idea for a blog post! #globalblogging
It looks like you have some lovely products! I’d love some spare time for a spa… Thanks for linking up with #globalblogging
